The stability of goods during transport relies on more than straps and stretch film—it starts with physics. This session introduces the fundamental principles that govern load securement and explores how friction plays a crucial role in pallet and trailer stabilization. Using anti-slip sheets in palletization not only improves load stability but also reduces the forces required for tie-down, enhancing safety and sustainability. Building on a collaborative study with Université Laval, CGP EXPAL deepened its understanding of surface friction and identified key gaps in current load securement standards—paving the way for safer, more efficient transport practices.
